Cubie

Our position and perspective of reality is bound to the confines of our imagination.

Humans have long been fascinated with other dimensions. In the 1800’s the fourth dimension was the focus of much exploration. Building or drawing a 4d cube was impossible in the 3d world we find ourselves within. Ingenuity grew a way to represent a 4d cube. Much as you can layout a 3d cube in 2d space by unwrapping the sides, you can unwrap a 4d cube and lay it out in 3d space. Dali used the layout, which looks like a cross of sorts, in some of his art. I did a series of images using a 3d layout of a 4d cube. This image was created during that series.
